Duff Center for Science and Technology Innovation, Ole Miss

Jury Comments

“A COTE Award goes to Duff Center for Science and Technology Innovation, Ole Miss by McCarty Architects and Ellenzweig. This project demonstrates how sustainable design can be achieved at an impactful scale in a campus environment. The jury noted the building daylighting strategies, including north-facing light monitors and terracotta sunshades, along with efficient lab systems and energy recovery that reduce consumption. Together with water-conscious design and low energy use below, the project shows how high-performance strategies can enrich both function and experience. For advancing design excellence together with environmental stewardship across multiple dimensions, the jury is pleased to give the inaugural COTE Chapter Award to the Duff Center for Science and Technology Innovation.”
